New NBA Playoff Ads: Paul Pierce and the Celtics
The defending NBA Champion Celtics have been on a recent rough stretch in which they have had to play without defensive leader Kevin Garnett, and even for a few games without him AND Rajon Rondo, who in my opinion is the most important player for the Green despite the Big Three All-Stars on their roster. But once they get to the postseason, they will be (hopefully for Boston fans) healthy and ready to play their best basketball. I would not expect the same extreme road troubles that they had last postseason, but I would expect much tougher overall series from Atlanta, Orlando and/or Cleveland, all of which the Celtics may have to get through in order to hoist an 18th championship banner. Plays like this one in the NBA’s new ad series show why they won the championship last year; they are a very unselfish group. Paul Pierce is the true highlight of the video with his spectacular finish, but credit is due to Rondo and KG for making the extra pass. Credit is also due to NBA.com for running this simple yet fantastic ad campaign over the web.
