Saints Sign Sharper
The New Orleans Saints were desperate for help in their secondary, and got plenty when they agreed to a deal with free-agent safety Darren Sharper last night.
Sharper, 33, is a four-time Pro Bowler with 54 career interceptions, including eight for touchdowns, in his 12-year career. He started in all 16 games for the Minnesota Vikings in 2008, and started their only postseason game. He will bring plenty of experience, physicality and big-play ability to a Saints defense looking for help in just about all facets.
Check out this crushing hit from Sharper on Santana Moss in the end zone two seasons ago, and you’ll get an idea of what he will bring to New Orleans.
