Malkin Needs to Be Taught a Lesson

Penguins center Evgeni Malkin is a great player, perhaps the NHL’s most valuable player this season. But he is also very young and has yet to mature as a professional. It is evident by this play from him, a bush-league elbow to the face of Kings winger Wayne Simmonds, with mere seconds remaining in the 4-1 win for Pittsburgh Friday night. It’s pretty astonishing that nobody on the Kings saw this as it happened, or else there would have been a brawl at the end of regulation. It’s hard to believe, however, that nobody on the Kings would eventually see this video and remember the play for next time they square off.
