Daily Duel April 2: Zdeno Chara vs. Evgeny Artyukhin

I had to make this the Daily Duel despite being a day late on it, but I couldn’t resist showing Monday’s brawl between Bruins captain Zdeno Chara and Tampa Bay goliath Evgeny Artyukhin. Chara is known more for hitting than fighting, but from time to time he feels the need to take matters into their own hands, the sign of a true leader. He takes exception to Artyukhin’s actions during a post-whistle scrum, and Artyukhin may have opened his mouth too because Chara loses it. If Artyukhin didn’t have his visor on he’d have two big welts on his face from Chara’s pummeling. The sheer weight of the two eventaully sends Chara spinning to the ice and dragging Artyukhin with him, but Chara wins this fight on general principles. Artyukhin doesn’t even raise a fist here, perhaps being nervous of touching Chara at all.
