Omark Considering Playing in Russia Next Season
Swedish Elite League player and Edmonton Oilers prospect Linus Omark has made a name for himself in America by innovating a move in a recent shootout. The most-viewed version of the Youtube clip of Omark’s amazing goal has now amassed over 600,000 views in just over a week. Now, the “Swedish Youtube Sensation” has now caught the eye of Russia’s KHL, from which an undisclosed team has made Omark a one-year contract offer, TSN reported Saturday.
The deal would pay Omark approximately $1 million for one season. Reports are that he is heavily considering the offer, but is also negotiating with the Oilers for an entry-level contract in which he would be paid the maximum for a rookie. The fate of each potential deal lies in Omark’s hands.
