The Highlight Reel

The Biggest Plays, Videos and News in Sports

Baseball Tonight Web Gems for April 16

A group of diving stops highlighted Thursday’s top plays from around baseball. Adrian Gonzalez leads off today’s list with a great diving stop to save a liner into right field. Aramis Ramirez makes a diving stop of his own at No.4. A-Rod’s current replacement in New York, Cody Ransom, makes a surprise appearance with yet another diving stop, plus a perfect throw to home to get the runner out. Jorge Posada’s perfect block of the plate is worth noting, as well.

Moving to the outfield, at No.2 is Twins right fielder Michael Cuddyer leaping in the air to rob what would have certainly been a double, if not a triple had he messed it up. Going back to the diving stops, the Braves’ Martin Prado tops the list with a diving stop and impressive throw from on his ass to just barely get the runner out.
