High School Pitcher Schuster Throws Four Straight No-Hitters
In the major leagues, four consecutive complete games is big news. Four straight shutouts? Even bigger news. Four straight NO-HITTERS!? Never been even close to accomplished before in the history of major league baseball. But Mitchell High School (Port Richey, Fla.) starter Patrick Schuster can now say he’s done what has eluded every major-leaguer in history, as the pitcher claimed his fourth consecutive no-no on Monday. The game was witnessed by over 1,000 fans, and over a dozen major league scouts. Considered right now as a mid-level prospect, Schuster’s draft stock could rise considerably with his remarkable string of no-hitters, now the record for the state of Florida.
ESPN got wind of his third straight no-hitter, and their own Jay Crawford interviewed Schuster after the fourth without knowing the outcome. Schuster got to break the news himself, and he gives a pretty entertaining interview here:Vodpod videos no longer available.
