Daily Duel April 23: Milan Lucic vs. Mike Komisarek

Advantage Bruins. Milan Lucic delivered a vicious and unnecessary cross-check to the neck area of the Canadiens’ Maxim LaPierre, and got his one-game suspension to go with it. Fair enough. But the Bruins didn’t need Lucic to breeze past the Canadiens in game 3. Then the B’s made sure they finished Montreal off in front of their home fans, and this time had Lucic around to make it worse for them. Lucic was booed every time he touched the puck, but it didn’t cause him to lose his cool, which Mike Komisarek tried many times. They finally came to blows in the third period, but it was over in about one punch. Not to take anything away from Komisarek, one of the league’s tougher players, but he looks overmatched here. Lucic gives him a look like “You sure you really want to do this?” before delivering the one-punch knockout, a la Mike Tyson on Nintendo.
